A Success Story with a Detailed Guide
Hey there, fellow shoppers! I’m excited to share my successful experience of shopping on Pinduoduo with free shipping to Japan for orders over 179 RMB. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate through the process.
My Shopping Experience
I placed my order on January 18th and received it on the 27th, which took a total of 9 days. The products arrived in perfect condition, and I didn’t have to pay any customs duties. I’m really satisfied with the service and the overall experience.
Step – by – Step Guide
- Set Your Japanese Address: First, add your detailed Japanese address, including your name and phone number, and set it as the default address. On the Pinduoduo homepage, you’ll see a prominent banner at the top. Click on it to enter the Japan free – shipping zone. (See Figure 2)
- Explore the Japan Free – Shipping Zone: Congratulations! You’ve now entered the Japan free – shipping section. You’ll notice a clear “Free shipping to Japan for orders over 179 RMB” label under each product. Any product you search for in the top search bar also qualifies for the 179 RMB free – shipping offer. (See Figure 3)
- Select Your Products and Checkout: Start selecting the products you want to buy and add them all to your favorites (or shopping cart). Go to your favorites, select all the items, and click “Checkout”. Make sure the shipping company shows the message “Free shipping for orders over 179 RMB”. Once you’ve confirmed everything, click “Pay Now”. (See Figure 4)
- Products Shipped to the Consolidation Center: Each merchant will send the products to the Pinduoduo – designated consolidation center. Once the products arrive at the center, you’ll see a red label that says “Consolidate and Ship”. (See Figure 5)
- Consolidate Your Orders: After all your products have arrived at the consolidation center, click on the “Consolidate and Ship” label of any product, then select all your orders. If the total amount reaches 179 RMB, you’ll see a message at the bottom saying “Threshold met, free shipping to Japan”. After confirming everything, click “Consolidate and Ship” in the bottom – right corner. (See Figure 6)
- Finalize Your Shipment: After double – checking that you haven’t missed anything, choose “Do not remove the outer packaging” for the unpacking service, and then click “Consolidate and Ship Now” with confidence. (See Figure 7)
Some Tips and Insights
- Shipping Time: The shipping time depends on the last product to arrive at the consolidation center. One of the merchants in my order took 3 days to ship, otherwise, I could have received my order 2 days earlier, which means it could have taken only 7 days from order placement to delivery.
- Batch Orders: You can place orders in batches. For example, buy one item at a time when you see something you like. Once your total order amount reaches 179 RMB, you can consolidate and ship them together. The products that arrive earlier will be stored at the consolidation center for up to 180 days.
- Free – Shipping Eligibility: The free – shipping condition requires the actual payment amount to reach 179 RMB. If you buy products worth 180 RMB but use a 5 – RMB coupon and end up paying 175 RMB, you won’t be eligible for free shipping.
- Customs Duties: Pinduoduo hasn’t clearly stated the amount above which customs duties will be charged. It’s advisable to keep the order amount reasonable. Once you reach 179 RMB, it’s best to ship the order.
- Packaging: Even if you choose “Do not remove the outer packaging”, some products may still be unpacked and combined into one carton.
- Product Quality: Most of the products on Pinduoduo are inexpensive and useful small items, but the quality can vary. It’s a good idea to be prepared for the possibility of not being able to return or exchange the products.
- Price Advantage: Many products support free shipping to Japan for orders over 179 RMB, and the prices are the same as when ordering within China. It’s really convenient!
Although there are Amazon and Temu in Japan, I still find Pinduoduo and Taobao more user – friendly. So, why not give it a try?
